Lights! Camera! Booty Shots! Bored girls in amazing tights! Entourages!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to peek in on a real-live-video shoot? Well thankfully, for you, Wale invited BYT to tag along this past Thursday to the shoot of his new video “Pretty Girls” (the single itself features Gucci Mane) directed by Chris Robinson and produced by D.C. production duo Best Kept Secret.

Needless to say, our response was, “where do we sign up and how many people can we send?”

Under the adage, “the more the merrier” we shipped off not one, not two, but three photographers and it seems like they had a good time, with the ladies and everyone from Clinton Portis (Redskins running back) to Ray Rice (Ravens running back) in it … (also note is that Portis is not wearing a Redskins hat he is wearing a Nats hat).Enjoy:

Oh and p.s. Wale is headlining the DMV Helps Haiti concert at 930 Club tonight (alongside XO, Tabi Bonney, Phil Ade and a host of other local hip hop heroes). You should go.

First up, some shots by Danny Harris:

and then some by Martin Locraft:

and finally some by Nick Gingold:

Vizio Internet Apps - Who really needs to pay extra for a TiVo or DVR during these trying economic times, right? VIZIO recently announced a new line of HDTVs that will incorporate video streaming sites and video applications. I got a chance to check out the TVs yesterday, and I was duly impressed.

The fall 2009 line of Extreme VIZIO Technology series (XVT) allows you to subscribe to Vudu, Netflix, Blockbuster OnDemand, Amazon Video On Demand, and Rhapsody, and you can stream content for free from sites like Showtime and Pandora. The TVs also enable you to choose widgets for your favorite Internet time-wasting sites, like Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter.

The HDTVs range in size from 32 inches to 55 inches. All models include USB video inputs that offer high quality 1080p video playback. The 42-inch to 55-inch models offer 240 scenes per second at 1080p with Smooth Motion technology.

Besides the amazing picture quality, the VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA) is what makes this new line of HDTVs really special. The VIA Connnected HDTV feature has bulit-in wireless (802.11n) and wired networking. If you’re a Rhapsody user, you can access Rhapsody right from your TV with the Rhapsody widget

The remote (pictured above) is also a neat little addition. The Bluetooth remote has a slide-down QWERTY keyboard, which finally eliminates that annoying on-screen keying.

And these TVs won’t break the bank either. The HDTVs range in price from $749.99 to $2,199.99. You can expect to start seeing some models in July, but most will be out by September.

Bill Cosby Dead, William Henry “Bill” Cosby, Jr. (born July 12, 1937) is an American comedian, actor, author, television producer, musician and activist. A veteran stand-up performer, he got his start at various clubs, then landed a starring role in the 1960s action show, I Spy. He later starred in his own series, The Bill Cosby Show, in 1969. He was one of the major characters on the children’s television show, The Electric Company, for its first two seasons, and created the humorous educational cartoon series, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, about a group of young friends growing up in the city. Cosby has also acted in a number of films.

During the 1980s, Cosby produced and starred in what is considered to be one of the decade’s defining sitcoms, The Cosby Show, which aired eight seasons from 1984 to 1992, and is still seen in syndication. The sitcom highlighted the experiences and growth of an upper-middle-class African American family. He also produced the hit sitcom, A Different World, which became second to The Cosby Show in ratings. In the 1990s, he starred in Cosby, which aired from 1996 to 2000, and during the show’s last two seasons, hosted Kids Say the Darndest Things.

His good-natured, fatherly image has made him a popular personality and garnered him the nickname of “America’s Dad”. He has been a sought-after spokesman over the years, and has endorsed a number of products, including Jell-O pudding, Kodak film, Ford, Texas Instruments, and Coca-Cola, including New Coke. In 2002, scholar Molefi Kete Asante included him in his book, the 100 Greatest African Americans.

In 1976, Cosby earned a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts. For his doctoral research, he wrote a dissertation entitled, “An Integration of the Visual Media Via ‘Fat Albert And The Cosby Kids’ Into the Elementary School Curriculum as a Teaching Aid and Vehicle to Achieve Increased Learning”.

The Boulder Woods Country Club Fighting Llamas will host our 2008 Tag Finale tournament on Sunday November 9th at Gifford Pinchot State Park. While watching game 2 of the NLDS at my GB Craig's house (with some fellow Llamas) it struck me that brewing a beer to commemorate the tag finale would be fun times for all involved.

There would only be a little over a month between brew-day and drink-day, so I needed to brew something that would ferment quick and clean. I decided to go with an English style bitter and knew that the Fermentis Safale S-04 would do the trick. I toned down the ESB recipe that I have been working on fine-tuning and came up with something like this:

Ingredients :
8 lbs. Maris Otter Pale info
.5 lbs. American Caramel 10°L info
1 oz. East Kent Goldings (Whole, 5.00 %AA) boiled 60 min. info
.5 oz. East Kent Goldings (Whole, 5.00 %AA) boiled 30 min. info
.5 oz. East Kent Goldings (Whole, 5.00 %AA) boiled 1 min. info
Yeast : DCL Yeast Safale S-04 Top Quality Ale Yeast info

Brewing Notes :
Mash Schedule
* 153° F for 60 minutes
* 170° F for 10 minutes

I actually wound up brewing the beer at Ryan's during game 3 of the NLDS, and surprisingly, I did not take many pics that night (was too busy running between his garage and his bar to watch the game). Ryan brewed something that night too; an abbey style dubbel, I believe.

I bottled after two weeks in primary (that S-04 kicks ass). I came in slightly over on the ABV (4.0%) per style guidelines, but everything else was pretty much spot on... I'm not a big "style guidelines" type of guy anyway. I bottle conditioned the beers for 3 weeks and Ryan helped with some sweet labels featuring the tag artwork - the finished product looks real nice if I do say so myself.

Anyway, this beer is a keeper - I'm going to make a few modifications and add it to the arsenal... this one has "pin" written all over it.

My groin is pretty fuct after the death march I took in August, so I am sure my disc golf will suffer as a result of not playing in a few months... but I am hoping the Llama Brew will be enough to save face.

A New Hands-Free Umbrella Promises to Keep You Dry, but Leaves Your Ego All Wet.

NEW YORK — Want to keep dry? Willing to sacrifice some of your dignity to do it?

A new kind of umbrella promises to keep you drier while you fiddle with your cell phone, handbag or briefcase.

The Nubrella is a big plastic dome that rests on your shoulders. While it keeps you dry through the strongest rain storm, that level of weather protection comes at a cost: Let's just call it the dorkiness factor.

The new-style umbrella looks like something out of a bad science fiction movie.

When I first saw a photo of it, I was intrigued and decided to test it out for myself. So during the first April rainstorm that came my way, I headed out on the streets of Manhattan.

Immediately people's heads turned. I was instantly the center of attention — not an easy feat on a busy New York street.

But I wasn't so sure this was the kind of attention I wanted.
